The work

About our kitchen remodel

A kitchen remodel is what you call it when the room where you cook and gather stops working for you—cabinets that won't close, countertops that stain, a layout that makes you walk in circles. Homeowners call us because they are tired of fighting their kitchen and want a space that fits how they actually live.

We start by gutting the room down to the studs. Then we rough in new plumbing and electrical, hang drywall, and tape and mud the joints. We install cabinets, set the countertops (quartz or granite), lay the flooring, and fit the backsplash tile. Under-cabinet lighting goes in last, and we test every outlet and fixture before we clean up.

What changes the job is the size of the room, the condition of the subfloor and walls, and whether you want to move plumbing or electrical. A straight swap of cabinets and countertops takes less time than opening a wall or relocating a sink. Material choices—solid wood versus MDF, quartz versus laminate—also affect the schedule and the cost.

On start day we cover your floors and seal off the work area. We ask you to clear the kitchen of dishes, food, and small appliances. We keep a portable toilet on site if the bathroom is inaccessible. Each evening we sweep and bag debris. You'll need to set up a temporary kitchen elsewhere until we finish and do a final walkthrough with you.

Quartz vs. Granite

Quartz is engineered stone that resists staining and never needs sealing. Granite is natural stone that must be sealed yearly and can chip at the edges.

Cabinetry Box Construction

Plywood boxes hold screws better and resist moisture longer than particleboard. Dovetail drawer joints are a sign of a cabinet that will last.

How the job runs

Our 4-step kitchen remodel process

01

Design & Measure

We meet on site, take laser measurements, and discuss your layout, cabinet style, and countertop material. We note plumbing and electrical locations so nothing gets missed.

02

Demolition & Rough-In

We strip the room to the studs, remove old cabinets and flooring, and reroute plumbing and electrical lines as needed. We cap gas lines safely and inspect the subfloor.

03

Install & Finish

We hang drywall, tape and texture, then install cabinets, countertops, sink, and fixtures. We set the backsplash, lay flooring, and mount under-cabinet lighting.

04

Trim & Walkthrough

We install baseboards, crown molding, and toe kicks. We adjust cabinet doors, test all outlets and plumbing, and walk through the space with you to confirm everything works.

The difference

Why NoCo Home Services for kitchen remodel

  • Solid Cabinetry

We use plywood box construction with dovetail drawer joints. That means your cabinets won't sag or swell when a dish towel gets hung on the handle.

  • Seamless Countertops

Quartz and granite slabs are cut to within a sixteenth of an inch. We shim cabinets dead level so the countertop sits flush and the seams are nearly invisible.

  • Drywall That Lasts

We tape and mud with mesh tape and setting compound, not all-purpose mud. That prevents cracks from showing up at the seams when the house settles.
